Golf & Tennis Communities
There are more than hundred golf and tennis communities in the Tri-City area. Lakewood Ranch Country Club, The Concession, Laurel Oak and The Oaks are some of the most highly sought-after golf clubs with homes on the beautiful courses — but there are many more and Realty Mere will be able to find the right one for you.

The Lakewood Ranch Country Club is literally the center of Lakewood Ranch, with three golf courses and a very active tennis community with 20 courts. Golf membership includes privileges to all three of its 18-hole championship golf courses, two of which are designed by world renowned golf course architect and player Arnold Palmer. This is where I live and play since 2008!
The Concession is slightly east of Downtown Lakewood Ranch off a major road named “University Parkway”. The Concession, designed by Nicklaus and Jacklin, was named “Best New Private Course” by Golf Digest during its opening year in 2006. It is a 24/7-hour gated neighborhood with large lots and custom-built homes. They have their own club house and dining. If you are looking for luxury and privacy, the Concession should be a consideration.
Laurel Oak is an 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course directly east of downtown Sarasota. It’s location is about 15 minutes from Downtown and 20 minutes from Siesta Key. For those seeking a country club lifestyle with homes on larger lots and more mature landscaping, Laurel Oak should be considered. This gated community is home to 500 residents of all ages.
The Oaks is a private, member-owned golf, tennis, and social club located in South Sarasota. It is approximately 15 minutes South of Downtown and a 15-minute drive to a variety of beaches. I love playing tennis at this club because it is quiet and lush. The food in the club restaurants is excellent, too. Home prices range from high $900’s to $3M due to the beautiful lots and exclusivity of the community. As mentioned previously, there are hundreds of golf and resort communities in Southwest Florida.
The Founder’s Club is a private golf and tennis community in Sarasota. The neighborhood is situated off Fruitville Road – just south of the Lakewood Ranch Waterside community. This gated, upscale community offers only 262 homes nestled on 700 acres of lakes, fairways, and nature preserves. Custom homes only in this community. I love driving into the Founders Club as you immediately enjoy serenity. The club also has its own club house with dining and entertainment.
