Siesta Key (Siesta) is a barrier island just off the city of Sarasota. It is known for its beautiful beaches and beachy urban vibe. Most know that Siesta Key beach is repeatedly honored for its beach beauty. There are no sky rises allowed on the beaches which allows the beauty of the water to shine.
Siesta Key is a very popular vacation destination, and it can feel crowded during “season” (January-March), but outside of those months, Siesta has a family and strong community behind it. There is so much to do on this island and the locals take advantage of it. Its proximity to downtown Sarasota gives this barrier island the best of beach and urban life. There are large and small single-family residences as well as condominium living on Siesta Key. Prices for Siesta Key real estate points vary from $500,000 to millions of dollars. Work with Realty Mere to find a property that has not yet hit the market!?
The thing I love most about Siesta Key is that the homes all have a very custom feel to them. Each house looks very different and reflects the owner’s taste. In other words, the curb appeal in Siesta Key is spectacular.
Siesta Key has a fun bar and restaurant area called Siesta Key Village. This is a beachy bar area that attracts visitors, spring breakers, and locals alike. Most people own their homes on Siesta, but many do rent them out for high-income rental income, for both long-term and short-term rentals. This is important to know as Siesta can have a somewhat ‘transient’ feel during certain months. My favorite restaurants on Siesta are The Summer House and Ophelia’s On The Bay. Siesta dwellers attend Sarasota schools which are all A Rated.
