Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island (AMI) is a 7-mile-long barrier island only 20 minutes from Downtown Bradenton. Anna Maria is the most Northern barrier Island that I specialize in Tri-City. Anna Maria prides itself on protecting the “old Florida” vibe. There are strict building and business restrictions on the island so there are no restaurant chains or high rises on the island. Like Siesta and Longboat Key, the beaches are sugary white. The beach of Anna Maria and neighboring Bradenton Beach is sugar white and soft. The fishing and boating possibilities are endless. By the way—whenever the fishing is good, so are the local fish restaurants. The Shore Restaurant, Rod and Reel, and The Beach Bistro, to name a few.

Housing prices on Anna Maria are high like on Longboat Key, but many are also older establishments so there can be a lot of renovation costs. Still – despite the prices and older construction – Anna Maria Island is one of the most favorite locations in all of Florida. Being on Anna Maria is relaxing and peaceful. Many residents get around on golf carts or scooters. This is my kind of living! If you are lucky enough to be able to work from home, why not live on a tropical island that brings joy every time you look out the door or hop on your golf cart? I will say this is not a high-energy “spring break” location. Relaxation and beauty and living without hustle and bustle are what it feels like to live on Anna Maria. There is an elementary school on Anna Maria called Anna Maria Island Elementary. Most children go to school on the mainland after elementary.
