Beach

The Tri-City area- Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice- has many beaches. Each beach and the community near that beach has its own theme and vibe. It is important that your real estate professional knows the details of each waterfront area as well as the guidelines of living near the water or on the water. Let Realty Mere find you the perfect beach paradise.

Casey Key is a barrier island off the coast of Southwest Florida and directly West of Nokomis, Florida. Although Casey Key is very “old Florida”, it is also very exclusive. Located South of Sarasota and North of Venice, this is a charming beach town and island community that looks like a postcard.

Siesta Key (Siesta) is a barrier island just off the city of Sarasota. It is known for its beautiful beaches and beachy urban vibe. Most know that Siesta Key beach is repeatedly honored for its beach beauty. There are no sky rises allowed on the beaches which allows the beauty of the water to shine.

Longboat Key (LBK) is a barrier island north of Siesta Key and south of Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria Island. It is 16 miles long and resides in both Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Like all keys, the island has water on both sides and although the cost of living is 58% higher than most parts of the USA, residents say it is worth it! Residences enjoy single-family homes on canals or directly on the gulf.

Anna Maria Island (AMI) is a 7-mile-long barrier island only 20 minutes from Downtown Bradenton. Anna Maria is the most Northern barrier Island that I specialize in Tri-City. Anna Maria prides itself on protecting the “old Florida” vibe. There are strict building and business restrictions on the island so there are no restaurant chains or high rises on the island. Like Siesta and Longboat Key, the beaches are sugary white.

Tucked between Sarasota and Venice are the unincorporated towns of Osprey and Nokomis. These areas are diverse gulf coast areas ranging from multimillion-dollar homes on the intercoastal waterways to less expensive opportunities inland. Casey Key is the barrier island off Nokomis and is the home of many celebrities. The vibe of the beaches here is very “chill” and quiet and private.

Bird Key is a barrier island located South of the John Ringling causeway between downtown Sarasota and Lido Key. It is a gated community with deep-water canals and its own private marina, racket, and yacht club. There are just over 500 homes in this exclusive 250-acre neighborhood with home prices from $1.5 M to multimillions.

Englewood Florida is so beautiful that it is shared between two counties! Sarasota and Charlotte County. Englewood is not a town but a Census Designated Place (CDP). A CDP is a community that does not have a municipal government but are designed by the Census Bureau to statistically designate an unincorporated area of land. Englewood is around 22 miles square miles and has approximately 18,000 people.

Snead Island is a small island to the west of Palmetto, Florida. This island sits where the Manatee River meets Terra Ceia Bay. The island is primarily residential but is home to a lovely natural preserve on the west part of the island called Emerson Point Preserve. Most of the 50,000 residents on Snead Island are Florida natives, which is atypical in the surrounding Manatee County area.

Terra Ceia, located in Palmetto Florida in Manatee County, is a hidden gem.More than two-thirds of the island is a nature preserve. The rest consists of small farms and groves, and single-family homes. I am not a huge fan of Palmetto as it has a higher crime rate than the other communities that I am focus on, but Terra Ceia Bay does not have that problem. It is located on Terra Ceia Island which is a beautiful islandthat is surrounded by 5 bodies of water, one of which is Terra Ceia Bay.
